Finally it is that time of year again, it is getting colder, the pumpkins are coming out and the evil cupcaking has begun.
I love Halloween and for a cake decorator who is best known for her seriously cute and oh so sweet cupcake designs, Halloween is a brilliant time to exercise my dark side.
I am adamant that all of the cupcakes I make at Buttercream Bakery are 100% original and I tend to struggle with this most at Halloween, I hate to see the same old cupcakes sold at every bakery, with the same old colours, toppers and sprinkles.
There are also amazing books like 'A Zombie Ate My Cupcake!' by Lily Vanilli on the market and these designs although phenomenal are now, in my mind at least unusable, even a variation of one of these fabulously gruesome cupcakes would, to me at least seem like copying and although at home I can play around with all sorts at the bakery everything has to be totally unique.
I have spent a lot of time coming up with this years Halloween range and these 'Dead Ted' Cupcakes are just a little taster. I hope you will agree they are definitely unique.
I love Zombie Ted!
I have also been perfecting my fondant flesh (yuck!) for a while now, a popular choice this year it seems (my clients are so cool), so prepare yourselves for lots of seriously gross cupcakes this Halloween.
Rest assured the nice cute teddy bears will be back but not until November, which is probably for the best since the Dead Teds have taken over the bakery and I don't think they play nice.
