I made these super easy and seriously cute candy bacon and eggs for my little brother as a birthday treat.
I think they look adorable and actually rather realistic but Mr. P. totally disagreed. His only comment was, 'that doesn't look like bacon'.
Mr. P. is such a meanie and obviously has no imagination what so ever! He is very lucky I still love him so.
Candy Bacon & Eggs couldn't be easier to make and kids will love getting involved, my family loved them.
My brilliant mum thought they were great, saying that they were delicious and had a slight nutty flavour...er yeah mum, that would be the peanut M&M...
To make your own Candy Bacon & Eggs you will need:
White Chocolate, melted
Yellow M&Ms
Pretzels Sticks
You will need around two teaspoons of melted chocolate per egg.
Spoon melted chocolate onto greaseproof paper with a teaspoon. Using the back of the teaspoon shape the melted chocolate to look like a fried egg, you don't want the chocolate too thin so be generous. Pop a yellow M&M into the centre of the chocolate and two pretzel sticks on the side.
Leave the chocolate to set at room temperature before removing each egg from the greaseproof paper using a palette knife.
My eggs were actually rather robust and despite trekking through a torrential rain storm with them, there was not a single breakage.
I started Christmas baking last week, is it too early for Christmas bakes? I think not but I'm Christmas mad. I have however held off posting them for fear you may judge me harshly, I was listening to all my favourite Christmas songs, whilst baking Christmas Macarons, it was pretty magical.
Also lovely Mr. P. gave me a copy of Pierre Herme's Macarons for my birthday, it is everything I dreamed it would be and more, the recipes are epic and so inspirational, it is also absolutely stunning and I cannot wait to dive in!
